Last Sunday we finished the Spring Frostbite Race Series with a fantastic, if somewhat blustery day of sailing.

Race 1 started in light air and was a 1 lap affair with Robbie Johnson in Pneuma collecting line honors and Jeff Hanson in Vindr Knifr getting the corrected win.

Race 2 had wind building so much that during the race, it removed or damaged at least 3 whisker poles. Mary sailed Grace to both line honors and the corrected win followed by Loren Murphy hundredths of a minute behind.

Race 3 was run in the shifty winds of the day, waiting through the occasional short lull, followed by the next gust to heal you over or round you up. The race was close with a row of 3 and 4 boats running up the river with the wind fighting for an advantage during the first lap.  Robbie again took line honors with Vindr Knifr and crew correcting to the win.

In the forth and final race of the series, we had a great start with several boats at the line with speed at the horn. The race played out very similar to race 3, with close downwind racing in play. Tim Lynch, Loren Murphy and Mary McCollum closing up the field on the upwind legs and Jeff Hanson and Robbie Johnson trying hard to pull away going downwind. In the end it was Robbie collecting line honors for the third time and Jeff Hanson correcting to his third win for the day.
